Reavaliando memórias de sua infância, onde a “demonização” da cultura africana se fez muito presente, a artista busca transformar esta doutrinação uma vez ensinada como verdade em um reaprendizado que permita um encontro com uma ancestralidade outrora corrompida. Através da escritura do mito iorubá de criação do mundo nas páginas da bíblia múltiplos conhecimentos se ressignificam no espaço mútuo de coexistência.

Re-education [2016]

Reassessing memories of her childhood, where the “demonization” of African culture has become very present, the artist seeks to transform this indoctrination once taught as truth in a relearning that allows an encounter with a once corrupted ancestry. Through the writing of the Yoruba myth of creation of the world in the pages of the bible multiple knowledge are reframed in the mutual space of coexistence.
